Directions:
From East Oakland, San Leandro, Castro Valley, etc.:
Take 580 West into Oakland. Take the Harrison
St. exit and merge on Harrison. Go through three stoplights
and then Lake Merritt will be on your left. Get into the
left lane and bear left into Lakeside Dr. Follow Lakeside
for three blocks and you will be forced to bear right onto
Madison. Barbary Lane is immediately on your left, at the
corner of Lakeside and Madison. Entrance on Madison.
From North Oakland, Berkeley, Orinda, Contra Costa County:
Take 24 West, then 580 East. Take the Harrison
St., exit and turn right on Harrison. Go through three stoplights,
and then Lake Merritt will be on your left. Get into the
left lane and bear left into Lakeside Dr. Follow Lakeside
for three blocks and you will be forced to bear right on
Madison. Barbary Lane is immediately on your left, at the
corner of Lakeside and Madison. Entrance on Madison.
From San Francisco, West Berkeley, Richmond, etc.:
From the Bay Bridge take 580 East. Take the
Harrison St. Exit and turn right on Harrison. Go through
three stoplights, and then Lake Merritt will be on your
left. Get into the left lane and bear left into Lakeside
Dr. Follow Lakeside for three blocks and you will be forced
to bear right on Madison. Barbary Lane is immediately on
your left, at the corner of Lakeside and Madison. Entrance
on Madison.
From 880 or San Jose:
Take 880 North toward downtown Oakland. Take
the Oak St./Lakeside Dr. exit. Make a right on Oak and get
into the far left lane. Oak becomes Lakeside after 14th
St. and Lakeside veers to the left just before Madison.
Turn left onto Madison. It is the first possible left. The
Barbary Lane is immediately on your left, at the corner
of Lakeside and Madison. Entrance on Madison.
From Alameda:
After you exit the Posey tube, follow Harrison
St. for about 10 blocks, then make a right on 17th St. Go
down 17th St. for about four blocks until you reach the
end of the road, which is Lakeside Dr. Make a left on Lakeside
Dr., after which you have to make another sudden left onto
Madison. Barbary Lane entrance is on Madison.
